Master Thesis Projects

VBN Components is involved in three master thesis projects in spring 2025.

Two of them will focus on a new type of ballistic protection, utilizing the possibilities of additive manufacturing. These studies, supervised by Ulrik Beste and Julia Sjöström, are connected to a recently awarded project supported by Vinnova and Swedish Dept. of Defense.

The third thesis work is an investigation of wear behaviour and mechanical properties of additively manufactured high-speed steel, involving methods like tribological scratch testing, nanoindentation and SEM imaging. This study is done at Uppsala universitet (Uppsala University) under supervision by Saad Khalid and Urban Wiklund.
