VBN Components receives first breakthrough order from the US military

PRESSRELEASE 9 JUNE 2021

The extremely wear resistant materials from Swedish VBN Components have attracted the interest of the United States Armed Forces. They have chosen to evaluate three of the company’s alloys due to the high performance and long lifetime of its 3D printed metal components. The alloys, known under the name Vibenite®, will now be tested for a number of applications.

”This order is of significant importance to us as it may lead to follow-up orders from sub-suppliers of the United States Armed Forces, but also from many other actors, for instance in Europe”, says Johan Bäckström, CEO of VBN Components AB.

Since the start in 2008 VBN Components has focused on developing extremely wear resistant metals with better properties than those traditionally manufactured. Among the Vibenite®-materials we have ”the world’s hardest steel” and ”the world’s only 3D printed cemented carbide”. The company is in a strong expansion phase and sees North America as a highly interesting market.
